Mummie Plants are a new breed of “businessplants” for businesspeople, purpose-designed to make business sense. Preserving a plant locks in its freshness and vitality and makes it self-sufficient, saving you the costs and headaches associated with ordinary plants. All the expensive TLC that a fragile non-preserved plant needs – Gone. By following a few simple don’ts and dos you can keep your Mummie Plants looking great for years, cost-free.
Don’t: Water
Mummie Plants constantly look vibrantly alive (more so than live planting). Because they don’t have any roots, they don’t need a water supply meaning they won’t droop or wilt from dehydration. Mummie Plants are designed to eliminate two of the most common causes of office plant ill-health: underwatering and overwatering. They need no water at all. Let your staff know that these are water-free plants and your work is done.
Don’t: Prune
Mummie Plants are created from peak-fresh preserved leaves. These leaves are not prone to wilting, browning, drying, dying or falling off like ordinary leaves. Ill/messy plants require constant pruning and tidying. Leave Mummie Plants unattended and they will take care of themselves. (Note: Should leaves ever get snapped off due to a handling accident they can be easily replaced).
Don’t: Chill
Mummie Plants are worker plants. Like any office worker they perform best at a good ambient office temperature. Mummie Plants might look tropical but all they need is 10C degrees heat. (At temperatures below 10C the glycerine preservation fluid will leak from the plants). Considering most business environments are around 20C heat will rarely be an issue.
Don’t: Steam
Mummie Plants don’t like humidity over 70%. In an office building it is rare to encounter such high humidity, but it is worth checking the humidity in bathroom areas if you intend to place a Mummie Plant there.
Do: Dust (But Don’t: Polish)
Dust will settle on any static item in an office and Mummie Plants are no exception. (Note: The synthetic materials in artificial plants can make them dust magnets. Mummie Plants are not synthetic meaning they will attract no more dust than an ordinary plant).
A simple feather duster is the best way to remove excess dust. Only ever use a dry duster or cloth; never use wet cloths, polishing cloths or sprays as these harm the plant. A few minutes dusting per plant once every few months is all you need to keep Mummie Plants in tip-top condition. If you have a cleaner that can do this, great. If not, anybody that can handle a duster will do. It can even be quite therapeutic!
Don’t: Forget the Planter
Planters are an integral part of a Mummie Plant’s presentation so give them a little love, too. An occasional dusting with a shammy/chamois cloth will keep them representing you in their best light.
